Whiteboard Advisors and JFF collaboration reflects a shared commitment to Colorado’s dynamic education and workforce ecosystem

Boulder, CO — May 19, 2020 — Whiteboard Advisors, a social impact agency focused on the intersection of education and economic mobility, and JFF, a national nonprofit dedicated to economic advancement for all, today announced the opening of a joint office in Boulder, Colorado led by Whiteboard Advisors’ SVP Alison Griffin. Home to many of the nation’s most venerable education policy organizations, Colorado’s front range is both a source of national thought leadership, and a destination for innovative thinkers and policymakers with far-reaching impact on the national discourse.

“This is an incredibly important moment for the state of Colorado, and Rocky Mountain West,” says Alison Griffin, two-time Congressional policy advisor and decade-long Colorado resident. “Work that was occurring long before the pandemic has, in many ways, positioned Colorado as a state uniquely situated to reimagine the education and workforce ecosystems as we look toward a more equitable economic recovery.”

Whiteboard Advisors has earned a reputation as the go-to communications, research, and strategy consulting partner for innovative nonprofits, impact investors, and entrepreneurs. Research and commentary by Whiteboard Advisors has been featured in USA Today, TechCrunch, Bloomberg, and The Washington Post, among others. The firm’s unique, bipartisan team of experts includes former U.S. Deputy Secretary of Labor Seth Harris, former USA Today education reporter Greg Toppo, and former governors Beverly Perdue and Jane Swift.

“JFF has a near forty-year history working at the intersection of education and employment, practice and policy. This is about tapping into Colorado’s insights and experience to inform our work, while bringing our network, perspective, and experience from both urban and rural communities nationwide to bear in Colorado,” says Maria Flynn, President and CEO of JFF. “I am excited that our shared presence will help to advance our collective learning, and collaboration, in Colorado.”

JFF will co-locate with Whiteboard Advisors at the Basecamp-Lafayette. JFF is committed to accelerating the alignment and transformation of the American workforce and education systems to ensure access to economic advancement and leverage partnerships and networks to scale impact in communities across the country. JFF is headquartered in Boston and also has offices in Washington, DC and Oakland, CA.

“In my work to better align postsecondary education with the economic and talent needs of Colorado, I collaborate closely with industry and business executives while leveraging the expertise of leaders in education, human development, and technology. Whiteboard Advisors and JFF are two of our key connectors in that work,” says Dr. Becky Takeda-Tinker, President of Colorado State University Global. “The pioneering spirit of Colorado is making a contribution to conversations at the national level, and shining a light on the groundbreaking initiatives and organizations that begin in our great state.”
