Melissa is a communications professional with more than a decade of experience in writing and editing. She previously served as the assistant managing editor of Education Next, a quarterly research and policy journal based at the Harvard Kennedy School. She has worked extensively with organizations focused on K–12 education and has also partnered with clients at universities, tech companies, research institutes, and a major television network.

She holds a B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley, where she was awarded the university’s highest honor in the literary arts for her writing. Her short fiction has been published on Gizmodo.com and in the Alfred Hitchcock Mystery Magazine.
