Lillian Thomas is an associate at Whiteboard Advisors focusing on advocacy and K-12 issues.

As a recent graduate from Dukes Sanford School of Public Policy, receiving her masters in Public Policy, Lillian set her concentrations in Social and Education Policy. While in graduate school, Lillian interned at Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) as the policy reach Intern for Superintendent Carvalho. While at LAUSD, she conducted extensive research around the systems nutrition program while introducing new solutions to be implemented district-wide. Lillian also spent a semester abroad studying at the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin, Germany.

Before entering graduate school, Lillian joined Senator Doug Jones’s reelection campaign as the Regional Director for the Southern District of Alabama. She was overseeing political outreach in 14 counties and managing various GOTV efforts. Once she completed her work on the campaign trail, Lillian began working at the Mobile Area Education Foundation as the Community Outreach Director.

Lillian is a proud alumna of Spelman College, where she received her bachelor’s degree in Political Science. While at Spelman, she was awarded National Action Networks Youth Leader of the Year, recognized by #RealCollege for her activism around student hunger, and was a Forbes 30 under 30 Fellow. She also spent two summers studying abroad in both Japan and China. Lillian also interned for Senator Doug Jones the summer before her senior year.

Lillian currently resides in her hometown of Mobile, AL, where she enjoys lunches with her grandmothers, weekends at Orange Beach, and quality time with her dog, Mardi.
